Heading on to Laos
After visiting the temple Bayon of Angkor Thom (our favourite) for a last time, our tuk-tuk driver droped us at international airport of Siem Reap. When we asked for the price that he wanted us to pay for driving us the last three days, we were very superprised as he asked us for an amount that we are happy to give. Of course we then gave more than we thought that it would cost!
The airport is nice, clean and small, it is prepared to handle greater capacities, that definitely will come soon, as we are convinced. To give an impression of small: Three flights have been announced during the time we were there.
We were again surpised as the two of us were the only people waiting at the gate - and we remained two accompanied by airport staff to the aircraft. So, we had the entire aircraft for us!
Pakse, the airport of our desitination is even smaller. There we were really the only passengers. As our visa, immigration, passport check and customs were completed, the staff went off since our flight was the last for the day!
At the same day we headed on 3 hours with an open air pick up service to the south of Laos. Our destination: Don Khong, one of the 4000 island on the Mekong river.
