Julia and Sabine on the Road again

1st day in incredible India

Julia's travel thougts...As always flying is always somewhat of an adventure for me - Sheila, you would have loved this :-). Marco and I did a good job in leaving our place in time, but unfortunately all these crazy bikers were on the road, blocking the way to the airport. 45 minutes left for the flight to leave and still no way closer to the airport even I started getting second thoughts. But, hey, the Lufthansa telephone check in is stored in my phone...another 15 minutes later things were starting to heat up. A second phone call to Lufthansa - no possibilities to book a new flight to Munich, or even get a new ticket within the next couple of days...but thanks to clearing roads, a speedy drive through Hamburg (THANKS MARCO!!!) and a first class check in...I made it. So the number of missed flights stays the same for the time being...
Sabine in Munich at the same time: Pretty relaxed sitting on the couch with Vesna. Having a perfect ride to the airport, a smooth check in with passport (drawing from experience earlier this week!!!), getting a free coke, Flippsies and a Butterbreze at the lounge (Thanks to Lufthansa for the kind support of letting me in with Julia's card). Due to comfort stay I nearly missed the final call for boarding (The Germans, known for their punctuality).

Julia and Sabine finally together: Now, the flight itself was pretty uneventful - it was nice meeting Sabine's friend who came to pick us up from the airport.

Surprised Sabine: Huzzlebuzzle Delhi seems quite familiar and not demanding at all. Due to a lack of preparation and the local climate, we prefer to re-visit places I came to like last time I was here.

Both: Delhi itself is boiling hot at the moment, driving as always is an adventure in India, with more lanes evolving on the street by the second. Having a car and a friend nearby is a definite pro! Spent the day relaxing from the flight and no sleep with a massage and then ventured around Paraganj (Delhi main bazaar). Love the cows strolling around among the many street vendors.

To be continued with fresh pics to track us down. Looking forward to your comments! :-)

Street Scenes from Delhi...

We're off with a quote for the day from a streetsign:
"Traffic rules & your dreams - you should follow both."
- Guess many people must have read this.
